FIRST, which is an acronym that stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology", was founded 1992, by Dean Kamen. Originally, FIRST comprised of 28 robotics teams in a high school gym in Manchester, New Hampshire. Now, FIRST is comprised of more than forty-thousand teams, and over four-hundred thousand students. Supporting Team 10024 futures the minds of the future and promotes science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, which are estimated to produce twice as many jobs through 2018 as non-STEM fields.
